As a philanthropist, Federico serves on several museum and nonprofit boards.
In addition to crafting jewelry, Jiménez has used his expertise to curate museum exhibits and assist in procuring jewelry for permanent collections, including the Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. His jewelry has been displayed at the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. He and his wife donated some of their collection of Mexican clothing and jewelry in 2008 to establish Museo de Artes Populares Belber Jiménez, a small venue open to the public in downtown Oaxaca, Mexico.

Be Tenacious
When you are someone that has struggled since childhood yet had a insatiable desire to create, to grow and prosper, it's not surprising someone like Federico would inspire people young and old who like him, what simply to be seen, heard and appreciated.
With the support of so many, especially his life partner Ellen Belber, Federico successfully managed to not only establish himself as a world renowned artist and jewelry craftsman, but a community leader and visionaire.

A Partner, Benefactor, and Federico's Muse
Ellen Belber
As a young woman, Ellen traveled to Oaxaca as part of a UCLA student anthropology research group. It was soon after her arrival in Oaxaca that the couple met, eventually leading to her telling Federico, "If you love me, you follow me." So, Federico flew to Los Angeles airport - another experience, another culture, another language.
The United States was full of energy with many things happening that brought the couple to demonstrations for women's liberation, equal rights, gay liberation. Their involvement in the American Indian movement led them to meeting Russel Means, Dennis Banks, and film icon Marlon Brando. They also became associated with the Farm Workers Labor Movement, meeting Cesar Chavez, supported the Black Power movement, and the Berkeley protests.
Ellen Belber was a fierce supporter of all causes related to cultural justice and was Federico's closest, biggest fan.
